Control Mass Distribution During OEM Development and Production

A product specification can include static weight range and balance-point range. For higher-level development, swing weight or twist weight may also be monitored when appropriate equipment and methods are available.

Do not set a very narrow tolerance unless the factory has a practical method to hit it.

When tuning a prototype, record where the mass is added or removed rather than only the final weight. Grip changes, edge reinforcement, foam, face layup and protective tape can each move the center of mass differently.
